RTC strives to be an inclusive musical theatre company. It is a company founded by Durham alumni, and wanted to build on our shared experiences there, maintaining the high standard and professional ethos of the Durham drama societies and the pride felt in bringing people together with a passion for theatre. Whilst many of our members are Durham alumni, we have been delighted to welcome new joiners who did not attend the university to our society through a referral system. Below is our membership criteria, referral process, and a form if you want to request to join, if you have any further questions please contact us.

What our members say

Rollers Theatre Company regularly collects feedback from members on their experiences, we are proud to create a welcoming environment for all of our members, but don’t just take our word for it…

Being a newcomer, I was met with nothing but open arms and loads of support. When you encounter a fairly established group of people who’ve known each other for a long time, it can feel intimidating - but Rollers didn’t make it feel like that at all! [...] Everybody was really willing to help anyone who needed it, whether it be through videos, going over songs, or even silently hopping onto a voice line to boost it. I’ve heard horror stories of other theatre groups being really toxic and creating rifts and cliques within the cast, there isn’t evidence of a single shred of that kind of behaviour here.
— Cast Member Feedback on Made in Dagenham
The sense of camaraderie, the performing, the after party. The joyful songs! The set and creative vision was excellent. All the people involved - cast and crew. Everyone worked so hard and it was so wonderful to be part of.
— Cast Member Feedback on the RTC 2023 Cabaret
Thank you once again for an amazing show experience. It was lovely to meet the cast and creative team as everyone was so friendly and welcoming.
